Fig 1. Thaddeus Noonan
A brilliant occult scientist from the highest echelon has lost it all in a blaze of fire: his status, his research, and his life
Thaddeus Noonan

An orphan from birth, Noonan was adopted by Aura and trained in her service to the cult of Archon and their deity, the Great Globzam. Noonan rose to the highest echelon of Lunarian society, celebrated for his genius, but isolated by his arrogance.

When he is betrayed by Aura, who conspires to steal his work, it ends with his soul being trapped in a tiny toy, and his body, a handsome briquette. In the sewer he sets about to create a new body for himself, but accidentally creates the Eyeball. Now Noonan must decide if he will raise the creature, or discard it, as he was as an infant.

Eyeball
Note / Note / Note

An accidental fusion of ethereal and material realms brought Eyeball into existence. Eyeball possesses the psychic essence of Noonan and the biological material of one among the horde of rat-like psychic vampires, that plague the city. He is like an inquisitive child, precocious, like Noonan was as a boy, but also ravenously hungry and evidently, legitimately bottomless.

Until Eyeball’s true nature is understood, it is a constant reopening of Pandora’s box. While he is able, Noonan will continue to carefully mold the not-so-little lump of clay.

Fig 4. Aura
Known by many names: Empress of Ina, the Tailor of B'rlulia, Master to some...but she is most recognized as MOTHER.
Aura
Note / Note / Note

A shape-shifter nature spirit of a corporation-incarnate. Aura is the Supreme Divinator of the Cult of Archon. Known by many as Mother Master for the many orphans she has adopted, she found special favor with Noonan and took him on as an apprentice. At the same time she adopted Grogan.

For centuries Aura has been the overseer for the Cult of Archon. Her ability to relocate the organization's Spectral Tower for purposes of geomancy and company picnics has granted her the role of Supreme Divinator. Growing wearisome of this menial task has emboldened Aura's desire to attain the power of a cosmic entity like Globzam. In order to do so, she must dominate the city and take Globzam's place as the ruler of Archon.

Eury

By a measure of one minute thirty nine seconds, Eury is the elder brother to his sister Selene. Eury is a reluctant participant in the family practice — while the lineage has existed for longer than the City of Luna holds records, he is only loyal to his  little sister. Although he lacks Selene's visionary nature, he is calculated at enacting her will.

Selene

Through her intelligence alone, Selene is the undisputed leader of the League of Lawyers. The League is an ancient firm that upholds the nature of the universe using Universal Laws. The more laws Selene knows (or designs) the more power the firm maintains. Being twins, Eury and Selene have a special ability they share each other's thoughts at will.

The World of Impossible...
lore, tales, &  spells

go for it, jump ahead

Impossible Eyeball

if Doctor Frankenstein had a heart

The Impossible Eyeball is a comical science fantasy. It has an episodic style like Venture Brothers if the star was Doctor Frederick Frankenstein (of Young Frankenstein), and set on Victorian Arrakis. The primary theme is about rising to the challenge of parenting, and of the personal changes that occur through it.

How it All Began ...

With his lab and body destroyed during an assassination attempt, occult scientist THADDEUS NOONAN becomes embodied in a toy automaton and accidentally creates EYEBALL, a precocious, eternally hungry and constantly curious companion. Noonan’s adoptive mother Aura, the leader of the Cult of Archon betrays him and aligns with twin lawyers EURY and SELENE to stage a series of mergers, beginning by assimilating the psychic energy of the rival cult the Necron Group.

The City of Luna

High Plains

This is the dominion of the five Spectral Towers that float above the city of Luna. A realm of power for the major cult orders that dwell there. The inhabitants are rarely seen outside of their offices. However, their catalog of products are advertised throughout the city.

Upper Rim

The Upper Rim, locally known as Dump View, is where the cultured class of the city reside. It boasts a collection of fine dining and high fashion establishments for the distinguished mystic. It's a stronghold for the libraries of sacred manuscripts and museums of wonder.

The City's Lower Realms

Lower Rim

The Lower Rim covers the major part of the city's sprawl. The landscape has a spiral nature, closing into a collection of street markets and shacks which bleed into the view of the dump below. It is often the stomping grounds for mobs and bounty hunters.

The Dump

A vast waste land of refuse with a hidden oasis. It has its own ecosystem and weather patterns. The many cave openings of the Dump connect to a labyrinth of sewers. The clockwork schedule of discarded garbage is a bastion of found treasure for scavengers who make a living there.
